Murano Glass Bowl Ashtray Amberina Controlled Bubble Silver Fleck Aventurine
Made by a skilled glass blower, this bowl has it all & the photos do not do it justice! Heavy rolled edge bowl / ashtray, these are attributed to the 1960s studio of Fratelli Toso in Murano, Italy, but other Murano artists also produced this style. It is an unusual color - amberina - which means it goes from deep orange red at the top through lighter shades of orange to clear at the base. Lovely & difficult bullicante (controlled bubble) technique goes from large bubbles at the top to small at the base, designed so that the large bubbles are featured in the rolled edge of the bowl. It also features silver aventurine (flakes) throughout the piece. This gives you a great visual combination of silver flakes showing on the rolled edge from the bottom and what looks like gold flakes when seen through the orange tone glass on the top. Highly polished clear base, this would be outstanding lit from above or below. Great gift for the art glass lover in your life. Size: 7 w x 2.5 h Condition: Excellent, I do not see any defects.
