Potter Wasp Nest (Mud, Real)

US Size:

【Potter Wasp Nest (Mud, Genuine)】

Diameter: Approx. 15mm, nearly spherical
Collected: Approx. 40 years ago
Location: Grassy area in a certain ward of Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture (now gone due to housing development)
Defects: The attached grass has withered and is gone. No dead larvae or pupal casings appear to be inside.

* Layered mud streaks on the side (Photo 2)
You can clearly see how the wasp used its small mandibles to add mud little by little.

* The bottom surface where it attached to the grass is flat with a hole (Photo 3)
This is evidence that the wasp used the grass surface as part of the nest structure.

The container is made of glass (also over 40 years old) and the lid is a simple cover type, not screw-on, so it will be secured with tape.
When removing, please gently lift the lid with tweezers or similar tools.

As this is a delicate item and will be packed with ample cushioning, the price is not highly negotiable.
